Now you have an excellent idea and wonder how you can
turn it into real products. Frankly, product development is a complex and
time consuming process. So, first of all, you should leave the hassles to experts.
It doesn't mean, however, that you don't
involve. Just the opposite, overseas production requires comprehensive communications
among customer, designer, sculptor, modeler, molder, painter, assembler,
shipper, and Customs broker. In order to make
intelligent decision, you should have some basic knowledge about cost elements
of a product, production
process, manufacturing method, material, packaging, quality control, shipping
and handling.
In addition, there are regulations from related
governments, namely China and United States, which can significantly, sometimes
decisively, affect the ways and costs of your project; adding to the
complexity, government regulations change over time. Since the Mattel product
recalls in 2007, in fact, US government has constantly tightened its regulations
on product safety, reflected in the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).
Aiming to
help, we put up some guidelines and updated information in the section of "Copyright
and regulations"; but since we are not the expert, you should consult
one who is if you do have the concern.
